At Neuro-Vision & Rehabilitation Center, we start by listening. Every brain and every visual system is different, so we build each recovery and performance plan around the individual in front of us: never a one-size-fits-all protocol.

Dr. Poonam Nathu built this center around one belief: the visual system is central to how we heal, learn, and perform. Using neuro-visual rehabilitation, neuro-lenses, light therapy, and other advanced tools, she helps children and adults recover after brain injury, build the visual skills behind learning, and reach peak performance, in a place where every patient feels heard and seen.

Meet The Doctor

Dr. Nathu

Dr. Nathu was born and raised in Southern California. Her family lived in Irvine California for over 20 years. Dr. Nathu had completed her undergraduate degree in Bio Physiology at the University of Washington in 2009. She then attended Western University of Health Sciences College of Optometry, where she received her degree in Optometry (O.D.) in 2014. Upon graduation, she moved to Dallas, Texas to complete her residency training in Neuro-Development and Vision Therapy/Rehabilitation under Dr. Charles Shidlofsky.

I am healthcare provider that has collaborated with Dr. Poonam Nathu with patients that require neuro optometry! I have referred people with acquired brain injury and have worked to co-manage patients in order to improve functional outcomes/increase participation in daily tasks and improve functional mobility. Following the evaluation and vision therapy/rehabilitation at her clinic in Folsom, CA the patients have been able to participate in therapeutic activity with a decrease in visual symptoms. Dr Nathu and team gave me my life back! I am so grateful! In September of 2023, I passed out and hit my head on the tile in my home. I went to the Emergency Department (ED) and was sent home with no referrals, just follow up with my PCP (Primary care). PCP told me there was nothing she could do, that I just needed to rest.
